How to Engage Customers

If you want to introduce new customers to your products and build loyalty among customers who have already purchased products from you, it's important to reach out and engage with them. Not sure where to start? We have some suggestions.

Social Media

Sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are tried and true avenues for reaching out to both potential and established customers. But what is the benefit of using social media as a Blender Market creator? You can:

  • Establish new professional connections
  • Receive product feedback from customers
  • Provide an open door for people to find your products
  • Put a spotlight on your products and use your network to get the word out about them

What are some ways you can engage with your customers on social media rather than just bombarding them with information about your (admittedly awesome) products?

  • Like, comment on, and retweet other people's posts
  • Host a contest with your product as the prize
  • Give shout-outs to inspiring artists and creators
  • Ask for feedback on your products or suggestions for products that artists or designers might be interested in

Coupons and Discounts

Providing an incentive for people to take a look at your products can help to increase your product views and sales. Coupons, which are available with a Creator Subscription, allow you to offer either a flat rate or percentage discount to customers with your coupon code.

Check out Setting Up Creator Coupons to learn more about how to set up coupons.

If you don't have a Creator Subscription, you can temporarily lower the price of one or more of your products in order to draw more attention to them. You will just have to remember to change the price back to what it was originally at the end of your promotional period.

Regardless of whether you use a Creator Coupon or discount your product, you will need to get the word out about the exclusive deal that customers can get on your product. Social media and email are good ways to achieve this.

Purchase Follow-Up

Finally, a great way to keep customers happy with your product and with your customer service is to reach out to them after their purchase to make sure that everything is working as expected. A post-purchase follow-up email is also a great way to encourage customers to leave a review of your product.

Who You Can Contact

Customers' email addresses will only be available to you if they opt-in to receive updates on your product. Thus, you may not be able to reach out to every customer, but you can do your best to reach out to every customer who gives you permission to do so.

If a customer has opted in to receive email from you, their email address will appear in the Customer column of the Sales tab in your Creator Dashboard. If they have not opted-in or checked out as a guest, the column will indicate either "No consent provided" or "Guest Customer".

How You Can Contact Them

The Email Customers tab allows you to send an email to all customers who purchased a product and is useful when you want to let them know about a product update that affects everyone (learn more about how to send a mass product email here). If, however, you want to send an email to one person, perhaps to follow up on their purchase, you can use the email address indicated in the Sales tab and contact them outside of Blender Market.
