Affiliate Coupons
Bringing together creators with great products and affiliates with large audiences is among the most effective strategies for generating sales. The Blender Market affiliate program offers both parties an opportunity to grow and prosper together. Affiliates can earn significant referral income by promoting Blender Market products to the audience they worked so hard to gain. Creators can generate real sales through affiliate partnerships while focusing more energy on building and supporting their products.
The most common method affiliates use to send trackable visitors to Blender Market is by using referral links. Visitors who click on those links and arrive at blendermarket.com are tracked so that the affiliate who delivered the visit can receive a referral if the user completes a purchase.
However, affiliate referrals can also be generated by using Affiliate Coupons. Affiliate Coupons are product coupons made by creators for use by specific affiliates. They allow purchases to be associated with an affiliate without requiring the customer to originate their buying session from a referral link.
This is useful for:
- Promoting affiliated products on channels through which a click would be inconvenient or impossible. Examples: Printing on a flyer, displaying in a video, mentioning in a podcast, etc.
- Offering customers a special deal, thereby increasing the likelihood of conversions.
- Having additional data for evaluating campaign and affiliate performance.
EXAMPLE SCENARIO:
Colleen Creator wants to promote her product by working with Albert Affiliate. Colleen makes a new 25% off coupon code called FRIENDSOFALBERT, which she shares with Albert. Albert then publishes a YouTube video in which he reviews Colleen's product. In that video he mentions that his followers can get 25% off Colleen's product with the coupon FRIENDSOFALBERT.
Then every time a customer buys Colleen's product and uses that coupon code, the customer gets 25% off their purchase, and Albert earns a referral on the sale.
How to Create an Affiliate Coupon
The Affiliate coupon system is built on top of the existing Creator coupon system and enables you as a Creator to attach and Affiliate to a coupon.
In the coupon form, an Affiliate Coupon section will be present.
Once the checkbox is selected, an Affiliate dropdown list will be available. This select dropdown will be populated with Affiliates you already have an existing relationships with.
Important Things to Know When Creating Affiliate Coupons
- As per the current Coupons system, a creator must have a paid subscription to have access to the Affiliate Coupons feature.
- When creating a coupon, if the Affiliate Coupon checkbox is checked, an Affiliate must be selected.
- If an affiliate coupon has been redeemed (has at least 1 order), it can not be changed back to a regular coupon (coupon with no affiliate association), and vice versa.
- If an affiliate coupon has been redeemed, its associated Affiliate can’t be changed.
- The established rate for the selected affiliate will be applied when calculating a referral commission on the applicable product purchase price. The commissions are calculated after the discount from the coupon has been applied.
Tracking Affiliate Coupon Usage
On the creator dashboard coupons index page, the coupons table has an Affiliate column. If a coupon is an affiliate coupon, the Affiliate's email address will be listed, and links to the creator dashboard Affiliate show page.
The creator dashboard Affiliate show page has a row that lists all of the Affiliate's coupons. Each listed coupon links to the coupon edit page.
In the order details page, if the purchase has an associated Affiliate referral, the Affiliate's name, the referral amount, and the coupon or the link used for the purchase, will be listed.

Notes on Coupon Usage
- Affiliate Coupons will only effect referrals for the products they are used on. It is possible for other affiliates to earn referrals for other products in the same order if the customer has previously visited the site from a referral link.
- If a customer visits the site from a referral link from one affiliate and then later buys the product using an affiliate coupon from a different affiliate, the affiliate associated with the coupon will receive the referral.
