Why Products Get Rejected

You've just uploaded your product and are excited for it to be live on Blender Market and start selling. But wait! It just got rejected. :(

It's not the end of the world if your product gets rejected—you can, after all, make the requested changes and resubmit—but it can be frustrating. This article identifies and explains some common reasons that products are rejected.

The best way to avoid having your products rejected is to follow Blender Market's General Product Guidelines and the How to Upload Your Products guide.

1. Missing Textures

Be sure to pack your textures with your models before uploading them to Blender Market. If you don't and there are no textures with the product (and there are supposed to be), your product will be rejected.

2. Shaders Not Linking to the Packed Textures

In addition to making sure that your textures are packed, make sure that your shaders are linked to the correct textures.

3. Poor Product Description

"Add-on that helps rig and animate cats" as your product description won't cut it, unfortunately. Every product is different, so we can't tell you exactly what you need to include in your product description, but you should always hit at least these few main points:

  • What your product is
  • What your product does or what it allows others to do
  • What makes your product unique or special

Make sure that your description is clear and complete. It should let prospective customers know exactly what they will be getting when they buy your product.

For tips on how to write a strong product description, take a look at Write Great Product Descriptions on the Blender Market Blog.

4. Not Enough Images

Let potential customers see your product in all its glory! We recommend adding 4–6 product images in addition to the featured image. These images are an opportunity to present a new view of your product, demonstrate its functionality, or show it in action. You can use static images or gifs.
